Wizard Tag has been perfecting the “Laser Tag” Wand since 2021 to bring magic into the world through technology. The company began with the question, “What if there was laser tag, but with wands!” We want to make magic real, get people away from screens and exercise more. Our gesture recognition system was created specifically for our wands and is used to enter and navigate menus, make selections, and cast spells!

The Wizard Tag mission is to provide consumers and laser tag arena owners with an alternative to traditional guns. All you need to play are wands. There are no vests, power packs, or headbands, so there is less equipment to clean after a game of Wizard Tag!  Engineering, prototyping, and programming were done in the USA, and manufacturing and assembly will also be in the USA!

Wizard Tag Presents “The Wand” at Laser Tag Convention

First public presentation of “Laser Tag in a Magic Wand” from March 18-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Grand Forks, North Dakota, Feb 23, 2024 – Wizard Tag LLC, inventor of Wizard Tag gesture-controlled wands, announced today that they will exhibit their prototypes at the Laser Tag Convention. The convention is part of the Amusement Expo International 2024 in Las Vegas from March 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Wizard Tag will be talking to laser tag arena owners and operators and assessing interest for this innovative product.

Wizard Tag was founded in 2020 with a desire to “make magic real”.  The father-daughter team of Jon Fisher and Cally McConnell incorporated a complete laser tag system into their design.  The last three years have been filled with prototype construction, which is in the final stages of software development.  The case design is complete and prototypes will be on display at the convention.

The Wizard Tag Wands are completely controlled with gesture recognition.  In a departure from the industry, there are no triggers on these wands and only a hidden power button.  Players must “cast spells” to navigate menus, change settings, attack and defend in combat, and activate special wand functions like Starlight (aka the flashlight).

We put laser tag in a “magic wand”! The Wizard Tag Wand has everything you need to play laser tag. LED, sound and haptic effects, a voice guide, built in IR sensors, rechargeable battery with USB-C, shotgun/sniper/shields, are just some of the features!...

  • The Wizard TagTM Wand is a complete laser tag system inside a "magic wand"! It is controlled entirely with gesture recognition and packed with technology. Two processors run the LED animations, sound and haptic effects and the Wizard Guide, which is a voice assistant for menu navigation. There are multiple IR sensors for 360 degree coverage, accelerometer/gyro/compass for motion detection, dual IR-LEDs for focused and spread target selection, as well as software for multiple game modes! The wands share information with each other over Bluetooth to set up games and compile match statistics. The wands also have utility functions including a nightlight mode, flashlight, and UV light for reading invisible messages. Light and audio settings are fully customizable. Ambient light sensors adjust for indoor and outdoor games. The wands have “crystal” inserts to view the 22 LEDs which are used to display lives and power during matches. The LEDs also have unique animations that help identify each game mode as well as some of the special roles in the games. The case has a classic wand shape with a comfortable grip including a hidden power button and covered USB port for charging.
